Depending on which U of A program you join — and if you are required (or choose) to do a Co-op placement — your total fees may differ accordingly. You can expect to pay around CAD $3,089. Please note that these fees are separate from your tuition fees.

The University of Alberta Health Insurance Plan (UAHIP) provides coverage for international students. You’ll just need to pay CAD $50 per month, with coverage starting on the first day of the month when your term begins and ending on the last day of the month when your term ends.
You’ll need to ensure you have all the materials you need for your studies. This could include things like textbooks, workbooks, notebooks, highlighters, pens, pencils, calculators, and more. We estimate the total cost of books and supplies to be roughly CAD $3,600 per year.
You’ll also need to think about any miscellaneous costs involved with studying at the University of Alberta, such as travel expenses.
